Exercise is key!

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2016. My world did temporarily fall apart, but I was soon on the treadmill of my treatment plan which kept me grounded and gave me hope. Caring for my 4 year old daughter as a single parent filled me with the desire to smash it and got me through some very turbulent and dark times.

Since finishing active treatment I have thrown all my energy into remaining as positive as possible. I did however move away from the cancer forum where I provided support to others as an admin. Yes I do have those dark thoughts and fears that sometimes consume me and cloud my judgement, but I use positive strategies to self help and move me forward into the light again.

One of my main uplifting tools is exercise! I ride my friends horses weekly and I’ve even started running again. I walk through the countryside with friends, but often alone. I love hearing bird song and the wind in the trees reminds me I’m alive.

I hope like me you can see the light but do talk to others and seek the help that you need. Stay strong and keep smiling. Life is amazing! Live it and take those opportunities. Rest when you need to and start to say no!

Hi
A really positive post to the power of exercise..
When you are faced with limited life choices it is great to have an activity that gives both physical and a clear head space to think. I most definitely have seen the light that exercise provides .
Keep strong .
