Dogs

I adopted two dogs after my treatment - they have been literal life savers!

Of course, I wouldn't suggest this for everyone, but if you have space in your life and heart for a dog, they make the best of companions. Their daily walks have been so good for me too.

During my treatment, especially the chemo, my dogs have got me out of the house even on my sickest days. They are such a lifesaver and a brilliant way to interact with other people without it always being about my health.

We got our puppy Marvel a week after my first chemo session & it was the best decision we’ve ever made.. he kept me company throughout my treatment, gave me a reason to get out of bed and to continue exercising on the days when I could manage it. Even now a year on from treatment & being in remission, he still helps me in so many ways.
